At Bury Manor Barn, you can choose the ceremony to suit you as we are licensed to hold civil ceremonies and are next to a beautiful 12th century church.  If  you choose a celebrant led wedding, we can accommodate that too!

Church Weddings

We have very close links with the 12th century Church of St John the Evangelist which is next door to Bury Manor Barn. After the service, photographs can be taken against a range of stunning backdrops including the banks of the River Arun.  The wedding party can walk along a pretty stone path and through a gate onto a terrace which is ideal for a Champagne reception; guests can park at the venue and walk to church – thus avoiding having to drive from the church to the reception.

Fr Peter Mallinson, the Vicar, can be contacted in order to discuss available dates and times.

Civil Ceremonies

These take place in the inner barn with stunning views across the Wildbrooks and River Arun to Amberley Castle and the South Downs beyond.  Registrars can be contacted in order to confirm dates and timings:

Celebrant led Ceremonies

Humanist and other celebrant let ceremonies can be held in the amphitheatre, the Walled Garden or even the woods.  Such ceremonies are not legally binding and in order to be legally married, a civil ceremony will need to be arranged as well which can be done before or after the celebrations at Bury Manor Barn.  It does not necessarily need to be on the same day. Please contact your local Registry Office for further information.

Jane Blackman, Celebrant, has led ceremonies at Bury Manor Barn in the past:
